Dave LaFontaine and Steve McLean Finnaly Win 1st in a T.S.B. Tournament Series
With this only being the second time on Lake Nosbonsing and introduceing Steves 12 year old grandson Chandler
to the Tournament fishing world, the odds of winning where pretty low. But as a Tournament angler you learn to
ajust to everything and do the best you can. Most young anglers who fish with thier dad or family, do so on
days when there is no presure on the fish or on lakes where you know they will catch fish, but
in a Bass Tournament on a small Lake where all your competitors know every inch of that lake and are good
anglers things are different. Now you got 3 people in a boat made for two, you have to tie on lures that can
catch fish but not get caught. You have a young angler who you know is going to get tierd, dehidrateted or
lose interest, because you might go 3 or 4 hrs with no bites. Along with this your going to get 2 anglers casting
at the same piece of structure that needs to be finnesed, so it does change your day a fair bit.
The night before the Tournament there was no way I could sleep, every move has to have a back up plan, and then
another back up for that, and if that does not work, like they say, just have fun, and that is exactly what we did.
We had so much fun that we started to catch fish that just wonted to get in the boat to see what we where all
going on about. As a matter of fact 16.60lbs of fish decided to take a look which was good enough to take
1st place, and the 5.05lber that Steves grandson Chandler caught seemed to wake him right up, and gave us
big fish of the day. I,am pretty sure his first Tournament wont be his last.

Now like I said these anglers from the North Bay area are not just going to let 2 old boys and a kid walk
right in and win a Tournament right in thier back yard, and they sure had us going as Ben Sabourin and
Phil Moore came to the scales with 15.28lbs. This would give the team 2cd place and some kind of big smile.

3rd place would go to Brian Milne and Rodney Deforest, who came to the scales with 14.22lbs.

I wont to thank all the anglers for the great job they did keeping thier fish alive in this extream hot
muggy weather and for helping put all the fish back into the Lake. Once again thanks to Brent , Darren and Steve
for the great job running the Tournament.
Stay Safe have Fun
Dave LaFontaine
