Norm Paiement and Brent Polson the Kings of Kenogami
On a beautiful Saturday morning anglers took to the waters of Lake Kenogami for the 2cd qualifier of the year.
Just a slight breeze, as the sun started to break though the clouds, made the anglers feel this would be a great
day of fishing. Well lets face it, anyday on the water fishing is a great day, but I dont think anybody told the
Bass that, because within the first hr you noticed boats starting to run all over the Lake, a great indicator
that the bite is slow.
To a Tournament angler a slow bite is the equivalent to a mother in labour, but the little angel just wont come
out, or listening to one of thoses stupid recordings on the phone for a half hour just to hear, all our lines are
busy please call back, CLICK. When Bass decide not to bite "well" they just wont bite, and you better have a lot
of perseverance because its gonna be a long day.
Persiverance is exactly what Norm Paiement from Earlton and Brent Polson from Nortre Dame du Nord have.
I have seen these 2 anglers site over a rock shole for so long they needed a hair cut when they got back
to shore with that one fish. But not today, the team used thier slow methodical, precision, presentation,
to dig out thoses Bass that did not have lock jaw, and return to the wiegh-in with 5 fish that totaled 13.62lbs,
which was enough to win the Tournament.

Our Tournament Cordinators for Kenogami Mike Verge and Darryl Dumas from Kirkland Lake came to the scales
with 11.94lbs, to take second place, and the team told us that they where catching 3 and 4 lb Bass on the
pre fish, but with the weather changing so often this week thier fish just vanished. The boys said they
had to work really hard just to find the 5 fish they got and never expected to be in second place.

Two young fellows who are fairly new to Tournament fishing Paul StCyr and Jonh Lavergne from the Kirkland Lake
area would take third spot with a weight of 11.82lbs. The boys where trying to be cool about winning but
I think I heard the screaming we won we won as they drove up the highway going home.

Rounding out the top four teams was Ben Sabourin and Josh Mckay from North Bay, the team came in with 11.56lbs
which is really good for thier fist time on Kenogami Lake and the hard fishing conditions they where faced with.

Big fish of the day was caught by Don Chartrand and John Henderson from New Liskeard. The team said earlyer
that they new it was going to be a hard fish, and where happy just to get big fish.

Well as for the rest of us, we could tell you tons of stories about the one that got away, but instead we will
just see you all next week in Larder Lake.
Stay Safe have Fun
