Paiement and Polson Win Temiskaming Smallmouth Bass
Season Opener on Lake Sesikinika
The 2011 Temiskaming Smallmouth Bass Series got underway on Saturday May 28th with 23 teams coming out to fish the first
Tournament on Lake Sesikinika hosted by Boucher Performance.
Teams came from Ottawa, Kitchener, Toronto, Barrie, North Bay, Sudbury and Timmons, to challenge local area anglers on their
home water for the cash, plaques and more importantly the bragging rights for top spot, which is all done in fun, but still
sweet.
Everyone knew that the 3 day cold front, that came in just before the Tournament would have an effect on the fishing,
and that the fish would more than likely be scattered. Anglers would have to figure out what to use and start looking
everywhere, for those 5 fish that would take first place.
Sometimes anglers just have to wait for the fish to begin to feed if they think they are on the right spot, and then sit
on that spot for long periods of times hoping it will happen. That is just what the team of Norm Paiement of Earlton and
Brent Polson of Nortre Dame du Nord did on Saturday to take the first place spot with 5 Smallmouth Bass that weighed 13.86lbs
and gave the team the $738 for first place.

Second place would go to the Team of John Sullivan from Timmons and Gerry Anglicchio from Kirkland Lake with a weight
of 12.92lbs that would give the team $443 and plaques.

Third place would go to the Ottawa team of Tony Morin and Julie Charron, who brought in a weight of 12.38lbs for $295,
plus 3rd place plaques and yes the right to say other women bet me LOL.

The Big Fish Award was won by Mike verge and Darryl Dumas from Kirkland Lake with a 3.70lb Bass giving the team the
$230 for Big Fish.

Rounding off the top 6 place finishers for Saturday.
Forth place would go to the home town team of Paul Boucher from Kenogami and Jason Mazzocato from Kirkland Lake with
a weight of 11.98lbs.
Fifth place was won by Patrick Canuel from Englehart and Brian Culhane from Kirkland Lake with 11.90lbs.
The sixth place spot was a tie between two teams, Jamie Dewar and Devin Van Derstracten both from Kitchener Ontario
and Calven and Carole Neill from Thornloe with 11.36lbs and yes again another lady angler bragging rights.
