Teams from Ottawa, Branford, Sudbury, Timmins, North Bay along with local anglers
hit the water Sunday May 30th to see who would get top spot and take home the fist
place cash and Trophy. Teams from out of town also knew this is a great way to qualify
early for the 4 events you need to get into the Classic and get some early Bass fishing
in long before any other Tournaments in Ontario.
As for the weather "well" its only May and even though it was hot and sunny up to the Wednesday
night pre fishing cut off, Sunday it cooled down and rained most of the day catching some anglers
like me with no rain coat. But "HA" it gave my jig lots of action as I shook away until the sun
came out.
I personaly wont to thank the anglers for the great job they did looking after thier fish as we had
a 100% live release of all the Bass back into the Lake, thats 125 Bass that will be bigger and meaner
next year.
Everybody knows that each Lake always has that one team that seems to out fish everybody year after year.
and on Sesikinika that team is Paul Boucher and Jason Mazzocato. This is the team every body wonts to beat
on this Lake because thats really what Tournament fishing is all about, to beat the home team on thier water.
Well not this year, Paul and Jason where so determined to beat everyone that I think they spent more money on
gas running from spot to spot than they won.
The team came to the scales with 15.46lbs at the end of the day to take the 1st place trophy and the $775.oo
for the win.

The next team to come to the scales was Darryl Dumas and Mike Verge, and the team came close to
catching the top team but just could not find that kicker fish that would give them the lead. The
team brought 14.96lbs to the scales which would give them 2cd place and the $465.oo cash.

John Henderson and Don Chartrand ended up taking 3rd place with a total weight of 14.10lbs,winning the
$310 and plus plaquces. The team fished all of the day with no rain coats, but said when it comes to
fishing a little thing like no rain coat we not stop them from trying as hard as they can.

Big fish of the day was won by Dave LaFontaine and Steve Mclean, that Steve caught late in the day
weighing after the sun started to come out and the water started towarm up a little. The fish weighed
4.36lbs bringing the teams total weight to 13.80 good enough for 4th place and the $330 for both.
Norm Paiement and Brent Polson would take home $100 for 5th place.

Patric Canual and Brian Culhane would round out the top 6 finishes with 12.74lbs taking home $50.

Now dont think just the boys fish Bass Tournaments, 4 lady anglers fished in the rain this weekend
and they kept up to the boys all day, and as the year goes on more ladies will be coming to the events
and one of these days we may well have just a ladies Tournament.
Next Tournament will be June 12th on Lake Kenogami, see ya there.
